Over the last couple of days, many people have found this blog by Googling, “reason for Memorial Day”.
This makes me sad. Everyone should know the reason for Memorial Day.
It doesn’t signify the beginning of summer. It’s not about the Indy 500, fireworks, shopping and sales, backyard bar-b-q’s or a day at the lake.
It’s a day to commemorate and honor the men and women that have died in uniform while serving their country.
Every year I post a Memorial Day article. Usually I link to a tribute someone has put up on YouTube. This year I decided to make one myself”¦
Please take five minutes to reflect on the real reason for Memorial Day, and remember those that made it possible for you to enjoy this holiday weekend.

A very moving video that makes it very clear our freedoms we sometimes take for granted are not free. Others have risked and given their lives so we can live the life we do. Thanks for sharing it Jay!
Jay, That’s the best 5 minutes I spent all day. My father and both of his brothers as well as my own brother served so, needless to say, patriotism runs deep in my blood. I think my heart just grew two sizes watching and listening to that video–beautiful! We have so much to be thankful for that we don’t even realize it all, thanks to these courageous heroes. Thank you, Jay, for sharing that today.
Unfortunately you are right about people forgetting about the true meaning of memorial day. Sadly, people tend to forget about the meaning of many other holidays as well. Instead, these days have become a time to shop and a day off work. Great post.

Very nice post, you my friend are a very busy man or should I say productive to make time to do something like that takes time and heart. Most of the things I find online from realtor and I being one of them is trying to drive traffic. Yes with this post you will get some but I think you did it for a better reason and I commend you for your efforts and I wish you well in Business.

Nice post it is a memorial day, for us to tribute those people who are to die for our country.
I wish everyone would respect Memorial Day as well. I truly enjoy and respect this day to rejoice and give thanks to all that have gave their lives for this beautiful country and to those that are fighting for us now. I have veterans in my family. Thanks for a memorial video.
