I got a call from a producer at the A&E network today. They are looking for an active flipper in the Phoenix area who is willing to participate in a segment of the show “Flip This House“.
This market doesn’t see nearly the volume of flipping that it did a couple of years ago. Back then you could flip a cardboard box for a tidy profit. Not so much now, but it still happens on a regular basis.
If there’s a reader out there who is interested (or knows someone who might be) then contact me for the producer’s info…
I’ve never seen the show, but hear that it’s well done and entertaining. Perhaps I should TiVo an episode or two…
Who knows, you could be the next real estate reality star!
The fact that the producers called on you for insight is a credit you’re marketing skills and knowledge of your area.
However, I’m surprised this program is still in production. For me, shows like this only prove the fact that the media has no clue of what is happening in real estate. As you pointed out, a few years back and in certain areas, anyone with good credit, decent organizational skills and some design sense could profit huge with turning a house in a seller’s market. Currently, in most markets, the homes that are selling are the best in the neighborhood and priced accordingly.
Thanks Stacey.
And I agree with you. I've already had a couple for requests for the producers info, so either people are still flipping on some level, or they are wanna-be reality TV stars looking to capture their 15 minutes.
But methinks A&E missed the prime timeline on this one… at least for Phoenix.
I heard that even if you find a buyer that you can't flip due to a govenment regulation that says you have to wait 6 months before you re-sell a property.
