Update: As of 6:24pm tonight (Dec 6) the AAR website is back online. I assume that means their phones are too…
Technology. Sometimes it isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Like when you have a telecommunications "bundle”, and the provide boinks out. Then you lose your internet, email, phone, web hosting ”“ jeepers, you might as well just fall off the face of the planets.
And for the folks at the Arizona Association of Realtors (AAR), that’s exactly what they are experiencing now.
Ron LaMee, the AAR Vice President of Information Services called and asked me if I’d help get eth word out that they aren’t ignoring you, they aren’t all lounging on the beach in ignorant bliss. They are diligently working with their provider to get things fixed. Here’s what Ron had to say in an email to me:
AAR is dark!
Just a heads-up everyone: The Arizona Assn of REALTORS® is not answering the phone. Or email”¦ Since mid-Saturday our communication trunks from XO Communications have been down. We’ve made countless calls and we’ve been sitting at the highest level of escalation for more than 12 hours and not a peep out of them. I guess that’s what happens when you cut service staff to save money – they have so few techs they can’t handle emergency issues. Needless to say, we’re upset, but doesn’t get us up and running.
Anyway, we’ll keep you updated. We still haven’t heard anything from them.
Ron LaMee
VP Information Services
This message is also posted to the AAR blog (which is on a different host than the main AAR site). I suspect that’s also where Ron and crew will post updates.
Thanks for helping spread the word, Jay! We were up last night, then down again this morning. But we are currently back up and have been for a few hours, so we're hoping this time it will stick. 🙂
That's great news! It's kind of unnerving when there is a server breakdown, or even a complete power blackout. It really feels like you're being left out and isolated. Oh my, the things technology has done to us. *sigh*

We rely on technology so much it can be hair raising when it doesn't work.
