So the day has come. You have decided to move. Maybe you found a great new home in Eastmark in Mesa AZ. Or maybe you have decided you are moving to Carino Estates, one of our favorite Chandler communities. Or maybe you are being real brave and moving to Phoenix from somewhere out of state (here are the critters you can expect to see.)

2 Months Before Moving Day.

You are planning ahead right? A move to Phoenix should be planned, not just decide one day to move and two days later you are there. (that was me actually.)

According to movers bronx, two months before your move to Phoenix, you need to start getting ready by lightening the load with the help of local movers. It is amazing how many things you can get rid of and never miss. At times I envy those minimalist livers.

6 Weeks Before Moving Day.

Now is the time to start gathering supplies, using things you don’t want to take with you and start tracking your mail. Why track your mail? Because you want to make sure you update your address for those things you want to keep receiving.

One Month To Go!

If you are selling your house you are probably under contract now. It is time to start packing the things you do not use on a regular basis. And of course, ask that question, do I really need to bring this with me?

Make sure you label all your boxes when you move. Here is a great tip, label the boxes numerically by room. For example, if you start with the kitchen, designate boxes for kitchen items to start with a 1 adding two numbers as you go. First kitchen box would be 100, then 101, then 102 etc. You can keep a piece of paper with the items in each box with their number to make things much easier to find.

Time to work on that change-of-address with the post office.

2 Weeks Before the Big Move!

It is time to start asking for help. Line up the bodies. Of course you may need to bribe some people with pizza and the beverage of their choice.

Now is also the time to start tracking down phone numbers for all of your utility companies. Not only the house you are moving out of, but also for the house you are moving into.  Your Realtor should be able to help you with this quickly. This is the best time to get help from moving companies to help move your big furniture and other stuff from your house that may take some time to get out. 1 Week Before Moving Day.

Pack a suitcase with a few days of necessities. You want to be ready incase you need to live out of suitcase for a couple days. Sure everything should go smooth, but plan for the worst case scenario.

Also now is a great time to start canceling those services you may get. Pool cleaning, yard cleaning, newspapers, Amazon Prime, milk delivery… yea, because a lot of people get their milk delivered.

A Couple Days Before Moving To Phoenix

Clean up your mess! When you move out of a house it is expected that you will leave it clean. You don’t need to get it professionally cleaned, but at least in broom swept condition.

Double Check with all your help to make sure they are coming and confirm with your truck rental there are no issues.

Also it may be a good idea to have the new house you are moving into professionally cleaned before you move in. Talk to your Realtor and they can give you some references.
