Historic Downtown Chandler
Historic Downtown Chandler has gone through a complete revitalization effort over the last decade. For someone who took a walk through the Downtown Chandler area in 2006, the place would be hardly recognizable today. Downtown Chandler has become a destination for a night out and a place to take the family.
Not only does the downtown Chandler have the first grass golf course in the state of Arizona, but it also has many great restaurants and shopping establishments.
Here are my favorite places in downtown. You will often find me at one of these wonderful places. Full reviews of each will be coming soon, as well.
Favorite restaurants
Vintage95: This is not only my favorite restaurant in the downtown area, this is my favorite restaurant in the state of Arizona. Yes, it is that good. Sit outside in the back courtyard at night with a glass of red wine, a cup of tomato bisque, an artisan board with some great cheese and the pork chop, and your night will be a good one for sure.
La Stalla: If you like Italian food, and who doesn’t, this is a place you want to check out.
Favorite coffee shops
Peixoto: For years, the one thing Chandler really lacked was a great coffee shop in downtown. In late 2014, they finally got one.
Downtown Chandler Cafe and Bakery: Some of you may remember this place when it was InPockets. With the change in ownership in 2015, in came new things. While InPockets was good, the improvements here have been great.
Favorite Bars
Bourbon Jack’s: There are many great options for bars in Downtown Chandler. If you like a loud and fun atmosphere with good food, Bourbon Jack’s may be the best choice for you.
Murphy’s Law: If you are looking for a more traditional Irish Pub style bar, you can’t go wrong with Murphy’s.
Favorite Beer
San Tan Brewing Company: If you want a nice locally brewed craft beer, San Tan Brewing Company is the place to be.
Favorite Lunch Place
Original Chop Shop: Need a smoothie or salad for lunch? This is my go to place.
Wimpy’s Paradise: Not in the mood for a salad? You have a burger on your mind? Stop by Wimpy’s and make sure you try the pretzel bun.

A few great events worth checking out in Downtown Chandler include:
Farmer’s Market
The Farmers Market, which is run by the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership. The Farmers Market is held every Thursday from 3-7pm.
Art Walk
The art walk is every third Friday from 6-10pm. There are usually over 50 local artist who bring their talents downtown for this event.
Chandler Jazz Festival
The Jazz Festival will be holding their annual event for the 17th time on Friday April 1st and Saturday April 2nd, 2016.
One of my favorite Downtown Chandler communities is Chandler’s Silk Stocking District, which can be found at that link.
