Today is Veterans Day. A day to honor those who have and continue to serve our country so we can retain the freedoms to make this the greatest country in the world.
While we can tend to get bogged down by stupid things like the color of a coffee cup, what would really be cool is if we put all we have in to honoring those who make it possible for us to do so. To honor those who have given us the freedom to express our belief system.
The United States of America is and will always be a place where we fight for the rights of ALL Americans. Black, red, white, yellow. Gay, straight, male, female. Rich, poor and in the middle. United we should stand.
While I have never served our country, I have a profound sense of pride to live in the United States of America, and I am truly thankful for friends, family and ALL who have served. So many have paid the ultimate price for our freedom, and we all owe them more than we give.
So, grab a cup of coffee today. Bake an apple pie, grab a cold beverage of choice and raise your glass to a Veteran. Don’t focus on the label, focus on a hero.
May God bless America. Now and forevermore.
