Could there be a correlation between hot housing markets and avocado toast? According to some super-cool hipster research, homes in upcoming hipster ‘hoods are a great indicator of rising housing prices.
Yelp and realtor.com teamed up to check out hot hipster housing markets where prices are rising in neighborhoods where you’ll find pour-over coffee, indie bike shops, vinyl records, craft beers and craftier cocktails along with the most beautiful beards imaginable. Oh, and Avocado Toast. Tons of avocado toast. I’m sure they are made from organic, gluten-free, free-range avocados that are to DIE for.
Apparently, the hottest hipster housing market in the country is located in the way cool Columbus, Ohio zip code of 43202. I don’t think I’ve ever been to this zip code, but I’m sure it’s lovely.
While the downtown Phoenix real estate market was mostly snubbed, we did see the 85234 zip code in Gilbert break the top 50 hottest hipster home market list. They came in at a respectable #39.
Personally, I would think that places like downtown Phoenix, downtown Tempe and downtown Chandler have a LOT more hipsters than places like Fort Wayne, Indiana, Boise, Idaho or Fargo, North Dakota which came in at numbers 4, 26, and 29.
If you’re wondering where the scrumptious avocado toast from the photo above can be found, it would be in the hipster ‘hood of the famous 85281 zip code in Tempe, AZ. Check it out at the AMAZING Sweetest Season Bakery Boutique. – If you are cool enough, you MUST give them a try.
Good stuff sir. Letβs meet for toast soon. Best to the boys this weekend!
Thanks, Mr. Jack! Maybe a craft beer, too!
Thanks real estate guy!
Thanks for stopping by, Erica!
Nick, in NO way will I EVER eat that! haha.
Gonna follow you on Twitter man!
Just give it a try. You’ll love it! All of the cool kids are doing it! π
Right on! This is excellent and entertaining. Nice shout out to Sweetest Season, also. I’ve been there once before and the baked goods are incredibly delicious.
Great content! Although as someone that formerly lived in Fargo I have to disagree with your statement that Phoenix is more hipster-ish… there are so many hipsters in Downtown Fargo you wouldn’t even believe it. The rest of North Dakota on the other hand is pure corn and beets. ; ) Regardless, let’s meet-up for some Avo-toast though!
Ha! Thanks for letting me know about Fargo. I must admit, I have never been there.
You know what they say about ASSumptions…
Happy to meet up for some toast any time. π
Right on! This is excellent and entertaining.Nice
