I added a couple of plugins to the blog today.
At roughly midpoint in the right sidebar, you’ll see “Top 10 Trackbackers”. This is a list of the 10 blogs that have most frequently linked back to The Phoenix Real Estate Guy. What’s the point of displaying such a list? Primarily to share a little link love. These 10 blogs get a linkback from every page here on TPREG. And who knows, it may encourage others to link here. The plugin is called Trackbackers. Getting it in my widgetized sidebar necessitated installing the Exec PHP widget plugin, which allows you to put executable PHP code in a sidebar widget. I also had to dink with the Trackbackers PHP file to get the display how I wanted it. It’s always scary when I start messing with PHP code, but I didn’t seem to blow anything up this time.
Also added was Performancing Metrics. It’s a pretty slick blog stats package. They have a WordPress plug in that simplifies installation. You can view your blog stats either on the Performancing site, or right from your WordPress dashboard. Time will tell if it will replace Google Analytics, my current stats tacker of choice.
Here’s a screen shot of the Performancing Metrics in the WP Dashboard (click image for larger view):
Here is a list of the plugins currently used on The Phoenix Real Estate Guy (plugin list generated by the plugins used plugin…)
Awesome list from the master of information! Thanks, Jay! You never cease to raise the bar and then offer to help us up there.
Great information! Thanks for sharing these tools! Now I'll enjoy my morning coffee while I'm investigating!
Glad to be of assistance ladies! I am always on the lookout for plugins and more than happy to share my opinion. One word of advice… always turn on plugins one at a time. Some don't play well with certain themes of other plugins. Activate one, see how it behaves, and then activate another.
Wow! Awesome list of plug-ins. I'm always on the lookout for new toys for my blog. One recommendation – have you checked out Lucia's Linky Love?
Jay,
This is why you're a local blogging legend. When I saw your Facebook status saying something about how WordPress was driving you crazy I was hoping for your sanity. Well, society benefits from your struggles, keep on.
Jay, great list of plug-ins. I spent a big chunk of time yesterday going through each of them I wasn't familiar with, and wow, what a compendium of useful plug-ins.
Jay thanks! I'll be using at least 2 of them on my blog.
If you're constantly installing themes and plug-ins, you'll love this plugin:

It's a plugin that makes it easier to…install plugins. Instead of downloading, unzipping, FTP-ing, and then activating, you simply right-click and install, then activate.
Very very cool.
Thanks Kevin. That's just what I need. The only think that stops me from checking out more is the hassle of installing them! 🙂
But you can bet I'm headed there now…
Linky love looks cool too. Thanks!
