Not news to anyone reading here since Friday, but the management changes at Point2 Agent have finally hit the “mainstream media”.

Point2 Technologies Press Release
I’m off to digest the press release and will no doubt have an opinion forthcoming.

I wonder what business venture those guys are off to … It HAS to be something…
Jay, I'm digesting too, but something I've noticed on your "responses". The screen says there are six responses to your post but I can only find one(from Mariana). I noticed this on your previous post on this subject but figured it was just me.
Cathy –
Some of these responses are "pingbacks" from other blogs that have linked to the post. They are the links below the list of comments.
Right now, they are a bunch of "splogs" — spam blogs that steal my content and post it to their sites. They suck. I need to go in and delete them. After I delete them, you may still see a high number of "responses" until things catch up and purge them from the response list completely.
Now I get it. I know you'd rather stick needles in your eyeballs than delete a comment and was just concerned that someone was messing with you (Gasp!)
Well I'm still out on this one Jay. I don't want to be pessimistic, but I guess I've seen way too much in my corporate days and I even typed some of those "press releases" myself, recalling how closely PR and the CEO would work together to make sure it said everything "just right."
So I'm in the wait and see mode. As I said on Relib, it's the next 3 months to a year that I will be watching closely and only time will tell.
Jay – you are so my hero. To get two prescious links from an Inman article is the coolest thing and should be awesome for you. Nice work with the original post to attract so much attention.
They should have made mention of Eron Wright who left P2 earlier and represented a large base of knowledge P2 used to draw upon.
His departure is not part of this exodus, but close enough to be worth mentioning.
P2 has been losing people consistently over the past bit.
I truly wish them the best, but this gash is going to leave a big scar.
It will change how the company feels and the direction their product.
You can anticipate a more profit (as opposed to product) oriented approach from P2 now.
This is something that typically gets overlooked, but you will feel the difference a year or so down the road.
I do hope that those being promoted can help P2 continue to be what it has been to this day. They are great people, but the formula has been changed drastically…
Alex – I met Eron when I ventured up to Saskatoon. The guy was geek personified — absolutely genius. I didn't know he'd left. If I'm not mistaken, he was something like employee #3 — or at least he'd been around since basically Day 1. Patented P2's PUF technology if I recall correctly (Photo Upload Facility — P2s brilliant photo handling "module").
Thanks for sharing your insight. Let me know if you land that 500K consulting gig! 😉
Edited to add: Yes, Eron is listed as a co-inventor on the PUF patent, alongside Barry and Wendell Willick see here
A lot of people use point2homes for their listing advertising down in Baja. I don't think they know that many people left point2. Interesting…
I knew something had changed at P2A. I have really felt that something had changed and now I realize what it was.
Thanks for the info Jay
In spite of these changes, I think they are still the commanding source for Real Estate in Baja California.
