I’m a big fan of historic homes. They just don’t build them the same these days ”“ the different styles, the colors, just the “attitude” of a historic home isn’t like the typical stucco and tile roofs you see throughout Phoenix suburbia.

Two of my favorite Phoenix historic homes areas are having neighborhood tours this month. These aren’t just home tours, they are neighborhood events. I’ve attended the Willo festival before and it was a blast. The Brentwood / Coronado tour is new:

The 2010 Willo Home Tour

What: 22nd Annual Willo Historic Home Tour and Street Festival

When: Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 10:00am ”“ 4:00pm

Where: Willo Historic District ”“ 3rd Ave & Holly Street, Phoenix (map)

Cost: $13.75 online in advance, $15 day of event. Kids 12 and under are free.

The 2010 Brentwood Historic District Tour (in the Coronado neighborhood)

What: Home Tour 2010: Undiscovered Coronado!

When: Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 10:00am ”“ 5:00pm

Where: Brentwood Historic District ”“ 18th Street and Willetta, Phoenix (map)

Cost: $12.50 online in advance, $15 day of event. (A portion of the proceeds goes toward renovation of East Virginia Street park.)
