It’s been awhile since I last did a Site of the Week Month When I Get Around to it post. Here are a couple of sites for you. They are both newish, completely different from each other, but very cool sites.
Phoenix Friday Nights
I’ve heard a lot of people say Phoenix has no “downtown culture”. Being an East Valleyer (and staring 50 in the face) I don’t get much opportunity to explore downtown night-life. But there is a group of local folks that are dispelling the no Phoenix night-life myth. Phoenix Friday Nights is the site that compiles their varied meet-ups — at bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. I’ve followed several participants on Twitter for some time, and just added a few more. It’s an eclectic group of folks. Very social media savvy, smart, and judging by the photos they are a whole lot of fun. You can follow the group on Twitter @FridayNights.
8 Dollar Farming
Chris Butterworth, real estate agent extraordinaire and a great thinker and writer, has started up 8 Dollar Farming. He offers an insanely inexpensive newsletter service, and the 8 Dollar Farming Blog is a wealth of information. Although it is targeted for real estate professionals, I think anyone in any service related industry would find many pearls of wisdom on the blog. For that matter, the things Chris discusses are food for thought for anyone in any walk of life. It’s a mix of philosophical thoughts and ideas, techy tips, and very sage advice on business and life in general. Go there, you won’t be disappointed.
