I have traveled high and low in search of The Perfect Burger. My travels have ended.
The Heart Attack Grill in Tempe, AZ has created the perfect burger in what may just be the perfect environment.
Yep, that would be the Double Bypass Burger. One full pound of grade-A prime Angus beef! I’d be remiss of I failed to mention it was served by an incredibly nice looking young lady. I’d post her picture here, but my wife would see it and maybe take away my Heart Attack Grill Angus Club Card. (check out their website, it’s visually appealing–yes, it’s clean. get your minds out of the gutter)
The Grill is a tiny place, staffed by…. “nurses”. Nurses unlike any you’ve probably seen before. The owner is a very cool guy (dressed as a doctor — are you getting the idea?) who will gladly cook your burger or give you the inside scoop on whatever nurse grabs your eye.
The menu is short. Burgers, fries, beer and soda. What else do you need? You can get a single, double, triple, even a quadruple. (I’m sure they’d cook you up a quintuple if you asked.) Some dude actually ate a quad on the first Alpha Male Monday — in less than nine minutes. I walked in just after that happened thank God. But another guy was just finishing up his quad. I thought he was going to hurl. A quad is TWO POUNDS of meat. You gotta have a screw loose to even attempt to eat something like this.
I could go on about the great bun, fresh lettuce and tomato, the “secret sauce” blah blah blah. But really, instead of hearing me ramble on about how great it is, drive yourself to the corner of Warner and Kyrene in Tempe and try it yourself. You won’t be sorry (unless you’re offended by great food and short skirts.)
Someone will whine about this not being real estate related. Get over it. This blog also contains “random musings”. Besides, we all have to eat.
Whoa. That looks deadly and delicious! I will definitely stop by the next time I'm on that side of town!
This is one of the restaurants I really miss from Arizona!
Awesome burgers and killer fries!
I had a hard time finding this place as my gps was showing it on the other side of the cross street. Luckily there were Cardinals Cheerleader tryouts that day so after I stopped drooling over about three dozen hot chicks jumping around, I managed to follow my nose to the Heart Attack Grill. I tried the tripple bypass surgery and it was outstanding! I'll be writing about it on my blog: http://www.myroadtrip.net
